Back in 2008, Dave Trimble organized the first Red Hook Crit to celebrate his birthday. Over the years, the race has blossomed into one of the most important and anticipated events on the NYC cycling calendar, attracting massive crowds and competitors from around the world. This past Saturday, we rolled down to Brooklyn to support the Chari & Co. NYC racers competing in Red Hook Crit No. 5. Taka, Jun, and K-Tel rep’d hard, and we had a blast watching local CX/road racer Dan Chabanov destroy a stacked field. Can’t wait until next year!

One of our team riders Mike Hernandez is a firefighter at Ladder Company 118 in Brooklyn. On the garage door of his station, there’s a beautiful mural featuring eight stars to commemorate the eight Ladder Company 118 firefighters who gave their lives to save countless others on 9/11. We wanted to do something to pay tribute to our friend and the rest of the world’s bravest, so we’re releasing a limited run of t-shirts in their honor. A portion of the sales will be donated to Ladder Company 118.
