We’ve been fortunate here that the winter has not been as brutal as last year and we’ve actually has some warmer then normal days. We just had a customer treat herself to a new bike after years of commuting on a bike she had for years. New year means new bike!

Fresh off the boat from Japan–a lovely black Anchor with red decals. This classy NJS frameset measures 54cm (c-c) x 54cm and features an exposed chrome drive-side chainstay. This beauty is dent-free and will only get better with age and wear, as any chips that it acquires will show off the chrome underneath the paint job!

It is somewhat difficult to find an NJS frame with equal top-tube and seat-tube measurements, so jump on this ASAP if its fits. Included in the sale are the frame, fork, and an NJS Hatta Swan headset.

Ever wonder where all the beautiful Keirin frames are being painted? Only a couple of painters are trusted by some of the worlds finest frame builders, Milky Way is one of those. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is truly beautiful to watch. An interesting part of the video is that he doesn’t use any respirator. They use a machine in the back that absorbs 80% of the paint so the paint never moves backwards and the fumes aren’t taken in by the painter. We’d like to thank them for their time and letting us into their space.

3.2 / KASHIMAX FACTORY VISIT VIDEO

We already showed you photographs from Yuki’s trip to the Kashimax Factory a couple weeks ago. Today we bring you the video portion. Kashimax was nice enough to take time out of their busy schedule to let us run around and capture the amazing process of hand made saddles. It’s a beautiful craft and makes you appreciate where you sit on your bicycle that much more. Thank you to Kashimax for being patient with us and welcoming us into their home.

1.16 / Yuki’s Trip TO JAPAN DAY 5 – KASHIMAX SADDLE CO

Kashimax is the only NJS certified saddle left for Keirin racers today, Located in Osaka, all Five Gold saddles are hand made by a few workers where each saddle is carefully crafted to NJS standards. It’s quite amazing the amount of saddles these guys produce, family owned and ridden by 10 time world champion, Koichi Nakano.
